all hallow's eve

A seminal night for Miss Fairchild, this Halloween 2006. Playing at Chicky’s Fine Diner in the hamlet of Westbrook, ME, DW, P. and myself had decided to dress as “the old Miss Fairchild.” Under those rules, Wrall might have had bigger hair and a different cut to his beard, P. might have worn sweat pants (pink, preferably) and I might have sported an ascot. Upon arrival, however, we found our costumes had already been taken by three enterprising fans. So Caitlin, Liz and Meaghan: way to represent. Maybe we can get some photos up here so the good folks keeping score at home can see. (hint, hint…)

At Halloween parties, you see people dressed as pop stars and musicians all the time; normally, however, those pop stars aren’t you.

Until next time, The Great Dunlap

From Shining Sea To Frozen Tundra

Well, it looks like I missed that ever important next day window for recapping Miss Fairchild’s recent strong. You see, I spent nearly the entirety of Thursday, Friday and Saturday awake, and come Sunday, there were not enough remaining braincells to form one complete sentence, let alone several complete sentences to make paragraphs and such. Well, now we’re at Wednesday and I still have doubts about the projected coherence of my ramblings, but here I go anyway…

Bringing It All Back Home (no new info)

Bring_l

People: we love you. You are the reason this is good and I thank for you that.

Miss Fairchild made a little homecoming last night, to the place that, in a way, it all started. You see, Daddy Wrall, the Great Dunlap and Samuel P. Nice used to play in this band Jive Sucka! way back in 1997-8 that foreshadowed in a serious way what’s going down nowadays. That band lived and played on Nantucket Island and it is to her shores that we returned last night with the new five piece band.

And Nantucket really came out for us. Came out and supported the band, supported the music, supported the upcoming album, supported its own. You folks exceeded my expectations.

And hopefully we did the same for you.

For those of you who don’t know what’s up, it’s a whole new era in Fairchildland and if I were you, I would get on the train now, while you still can. Those of you that have been with us all along: say word, motherlovers; you guys got it going on.

And on we go. See you at the next show.

PEOPLE!!!!! (What you doin’?)

Well, we at MF are standing on the verge of getting it on, motherlovers. I have to say sorry for my long absence from this blog. It isn’t that there is nothing going on, more that there is too much going on. We’ll get to that shortly.

For those of you who aren’t hip to the e-mail list, two things: (1) get hip, go to missfairchild.com and sign up; (2) uh, it sounds kind of drastic, but we have a new band.
